London loves a concept restaurant and loads have popped up recently serving just one item such as burgers, steak or hotdogs and they all stick to the theme and offer minimal variations on their menu. This can sometimes be a total no go for a gluten free diet. So when I heard that my friend’s birthday meal would be at a new ‘chicken and beer’ concept restaurant I feared I wouldn’t have much to choose from. How wrong I was!
Last weekend my friend had booked a table at Whyte and Brown. It’s a new restaurant in Soho just off Carnaby Street in the beautiful Kingly Court (pictured above). Their website says that Whyte & Brown “focus on just a few hero ingredients – chicken, eggs and craft beer. It’s a Continue reading

I decided to go try out one of these improved burgers on my lunch break as GBK offer a handy takeaway service. I went for the classic cheese burger which was cooked medium with an American style cheese topping. By the time I got back to my desk I couldn’t wait to try it! I was back home in Yorkshire recently visiting my parents and decided to make a day trip to the beautiful York city centre which has a branch of GBK. On arrival I asked the staff if they had GF buns on offer and she said not only did they have the buns but a whole gluten free menu! This was a great surprise as it also contained many more items that were gluten free. The staff were excellent with their GF knowledge and were able to answer all my questions on arrival. One of the first questions I asked was why chips were missing off the gluten free menu and Continue reading
