Well done Pizza Express! Having spent years missing out on trips here they have now launched a new gluten free menu with NGCI accreditation. I went to sample the menu when it launched in April 2013 but I went back last night and yet again it was fantastic.
On their website Pizza Express say:
“We’ve worked hard to ensure that you can be fully confident of no issues on entering any PizzaExpress. This includes changing processes in our kitchens – including labeling and storage, using new equipment only for gluten-free food, as well as changing the flour we use for tossing and stretching our dough to be Gluten free.
Coeliac UK have awarded us with their NGCI accreditation due to these changes and to put your mind at rest.”
There are two starters to choose from: a Risotto or a Mozzarella& Tomato Salad then to follow a choice of salad, a baked Melanzane Parmigiana and all pizzas (with exception to a few toppings) can be made gluten free on a classic sized base. I went for the Da Morire which is a delicious combination including of Gorgonzola and crispy pancetta.
Their gluten free bases are perfect: crispy on the crust with a generous amount of toppings. To finish they have a gluten free chocolate brownie and even a gluten free beer to wash it down with. 10/10!
